Sebastian Inlet State Park For the Summer jolenemac455, May 21, 2014 Sorry Folks about not posting the last two days! We have been busy here at the Woods Ferry River Camp trying to get everything ready for the upcoming weekend. Our camp and Anderson Landing are now opened for reservations, however, the other 4 are not, yet. So we have been painting, sweeping, blowing off sand and leaves and cleaning all the sleeping platforms to get ready for Memorial Day Weekend. Anyway, we just heard from Sebastian Inlet State Park and they are looking for volunteers this summer and next. We have always wanted to visit there, camp there and now even would like to volunteer as campground hosts. Sadly, we have already accepted assignments from now until the end of October next year. But if you, a family member or friend has an RV or travel trailer and would like to spend the summer at one of Florida’s beautiful beaches we hope you will consider volunteering at this Florida State Park. Who wouldn’t want to spend their summer vacation at a great place on the beach? And volunteering as a campground host gets you a FREE campsite in return for your service. Here are some of the details you may want to know about being a volunteer at Sebastian Inlet State Park: Campground Host Sites have water and Electric (30Amp) with a 40 foot Rig Limit. There is a dump station in the campground Maximum Volunteer Stay is 16 weeks They require 40 hours per week per site (20 per person if you are a couple) Campground Hosts duties are what you expect, clean the bathhouse, the campsites, etc. but they do have a museum in the park and might need help with that from time to time as well as any special projects that they have going on you might want to help with. If you have any questions about the park or being a volunteer please contact the park directly: Michael Moreno Volunteer Coordinator Sebastian Inlet State Park 9700 S Hwy A1A Melbourne Beach, FL 32951 (321) 984-4852 Michael.Moreno@dep.state.fl.us REMEMBER: Volunteering in one of our Florida State Parks during the summer months is a great way to get experience and make contacts. Who knows?!?! It might even lead to some much coveted winter time assignments.
