Ten Parks in 30 Days jolenemac455, February 25, 2014 When we leave here at Myakka River State Park we will be doing a whirlwind tour of 10 Florida State Parks in 30 days on our way to Suwannee River Wilderness River Camps. As you can see from our Calendar page we have already posted where we will be and when. The reservations have been made and paid for we only hope that old “Big Bertha”, our 1984 Class A Pace Arrow RV, is up to the trips. We scheduled them this way so that we can go to as many parks as we could before our next campground hosting assignment. Needless to say, for the month of April, we may not be able to post many blog articles. Who knows? I will try to post as we go. I am still working on creating movies of our pictures from St. Joseph’s and Dade Battlefield as well as taking more pictures for our Myakka River review. Since the internet service here is sporadic at best and weak most of the time I cannot justify spending time to create the movies when I cannot upload them while we are here. Instead, we have been working on creating as many crafts as we can to participate in the Sarasota Folk Festival at Oscar Scherer State Park next month. We had to go back to Jacksonville to get our booth displays out of storage. We visited Oscar Scherer to see if we had internet service on my cellphone. Thankfully, where they have scheduled the event there seems to be cellphone service so we will be able to accept credit cards. We are looking forward to our three day stay there when we leave here as well. Being a vendor at this event, we hope, will just be a start in getting our crafts sold and our websites out there. Our new business cards has this website as well as our online stores on them and we plan on giving away a bunch of them while we are there. As it stands we will be visiting Oscar Scherer State Park, Lake Manatee State Park, Little Manatee River State Park, Alafia River State Park, Hillsborough River State Park, Wekiwa Springs State Park, Lake Louisa State Park, Lake Griffin State Park, Rainbow Springs State Park and, finally, revisiting Manatee Springs State Park for a couple of days of relaxation before Adams Tract River Camp. At least, we think we are still being assigned to Adams Tract River Camp again this year. We haven’t heard from the Volunteer Coordinator this year but we met the manager here at Myakka last month while he was camping and visiting his daughter, a park ranger here, and he said he would have the coordinator contact us next month. So, check out our Calendar page and if you are going to be at any of the parks or events while we are there look us up! Till next time….
